Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC (ARMA) representatives meet with company representatives to do a needs based safety assessment. Key questions are asked, copies of safety documents are requested, and an escorted tour is made. This process is conducted in order to determine prioritized safety services to be provided.
The first requirement to providing a sound Risk Management Program involves a Comprehensive Written Occupational Safety and Health Policy Manual related to government compliance, as well as injury/illness and property damage prevention. The manual is divided into alphabetical sections.
We feel that we could produce and implement the necessary policies in an expeditious and cost effective manner. We feel that your time could be spent in a much more productive manner on items that are more productive to your area of business. Policy updates will be provided as long as your company is a client of Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC.
It is our opinion that a sound Risk Management Program must include effective Employee Training related to the Written Policy Manual. It is important to have all safety and health policies in writing for reference and documentation purposes.
However, it is extremely important to effectively communicate policy to the employees to make certain that they are aware of and understand the true nature of safety and health compliance as contained in the topical areas outlined in the written safety and health manual.
Our training sessions are comprised of lecture, question and answer sessions, practical exercises, powerpoints, and audio/video media to enhance the lecture in order to provide the student with visualization of the stated topical objectives.
The training will be performed at your facility. A minimum of four (4) hour sessions is recommended in order to accommodate scheduling and to provide for the continuity of the related training topics — as well as minimizing any interruptions to your production schedule. However, training sessions as related to topic, time duration, and location will be tailored to meet your individual needs. The training will provide an average of twelve (12) to sixteen (16) hours of training per employee per year. The session topics would be prioritized. Once all topics are covered, the cycle would start over to provide the redundant training objectives required by OSHA.
It is our opinion that the training sessions would greatly enhance your employees’ overall safety and health awareness level, loss prevention objectives, and continue to provide savings in the area of reduced claims and insurance premiums.
OSHA Compliance Safety Inspections will be conducted at your facility. Inspections will be conducted annually to determine if safety hazards are present that could lead to an employee or visitor injury, damage to company property, or a violation of government compliance regulations. The site inspections will be aimed at insuring compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as addressing Loss Prevention.
During the inspection phase, we will identify the hazards within your facility and record them on a inspection spreadsheet. This is done so that the person responsible for abatement can readily locate the hazard for corrective action.
When you receive the abatement recommendations, the inspector/auditor will be available for follow up, to answer any questions you may have, or to determine whether the proper corrective action has been taken regarding the elimination of a safety hazard mentioned in the written site inspection.
Specific audits are prioritized and conducted annually based upon the breakdown of information gathered from the Hazard Assessment. This information will cover a range of topics that apply to your company’s specific safety, loss prevention, security or transportation programs as required by federal and state agencies. A report will be generated by ARMA stating any deficiencies in these specific areas. ARMA will always recommend corrective action to be taken to bring your company up to current standards.
We will also be conducting audits of each of your sub-contractors to assess whether or not each sub-contractor possesses a satisfactory safety program. This audit will be executed in order to determine whether or not each subcontractor is a reasonable risk, and to minimize citations/fines by government regulators as well as from a liability standpoint.
A copy of all records of your Risk Management Program will be maintained at our office; both in your client file, as well as in our computer data bank. This is to ensure that records are maintained – especially in the event of a seizure of records by a government regulatory agency. All records will be used by Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC to troubleshoot any trends toward losses suffered by your company.
In the event your company should suffer a serious accident related to the workplace, Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC representatives will be dispatched to the scene to investigate and document any personal injury or property damage accident. Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC representatives will conduct the inspection process with the inspector or compliance officer. In the event that your company is cited and fined by OSHA, Advanced Risk Management Associates, LLC representatives will represent your company during the mitigation process from the informal conference stage to the contested stage if necessary.
As part of a complete safety and health program, occupational health issues will also be addressed. Following are some of the facets of industrial hygiene that are part of the program relating to preserving employee health in the workplace:
Hearing Conservation, Personal Protective Equipment for Chemical Exposures, Atmospheric Exposures to Chemicals (Identifying, Determining Exposure Level, Exposure Reduction Actions) as well as training for employees about potential chemical exposures in the workplace. A respiratory program can be established if required.
In order to provide a complete risk management program, it is necessary to provide consultation related to:
- Air Quality
- Water Quality
- Prevention of ground contamination
Stricter EPA and DNR rules have become effective in the areas of the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), the Management of Underground Storage Tanks, Hazardous Waste Storage, Treatment and Disposal of Hazardous Wastes, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Hazardous Materials Transportation Act (HMTA), Hazardous Waste Transportation, the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Environment Pollution Control, Waste Minimization, Worker Right to Know, and the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act.
Environmental consultation would be in the form of an assessment. If it is discovered through the assessment process that permits are required, a proposal for the permit system would be provided at no extra cost.
